First Day of School

So Parker started Kindergarden and Makenna started Preschool. They LOVE school. Parker loves riding the bus, math and Popcorn Friday. Makenna loves snacks, gymnastics class and "share day"
Since on Tuesdays and Thursdays Parker and Makenna both have school and they are at the same time, Breck usually takes Makenna and her buddy Cassidy to school, so I can take Parker to the bus stop. Darci picks the girls up so I can get Parker from the bus in the afternoon.
On Makenna's first day of Preschool, I was giving her hugs and kisses and she said, "Bye mom, I have to go to my school, stop kissing me!" Then when Breck dropped her off, he sat down by her just to make sure she was OK and not too scared and she said, "Daddy, this is Kenna's school, not daddy's school, bye!" Obviously, she is socially well-adjusted and very independent. Parker tends to be unsure of the unknown. He was a bit nervous that he wouldn't know how to get to his class or where the basketballs were for recess. He told me he figured out both on the first day, so now all is well.

OK...I am back! Here it goes....

So lots has happened around these parts the last few months, so I will be posting a lot in the next couple of weeks. Let's start off with Makenna's lovely make-over that began our summer.

So it was a sunny afternoon and I was in the shower, only for about 5 minutes, and Makenna walked in the bathroom and said, "Mommy, Kenna did cut-cut." I didn't think I understood right since we hide our scissors on top of the fridge. So she repeated it again. I should have stayed in the shower and let it all sink in, but I reacted too quickly. So with shampoo in my hair I opened up the shower door and saw this....

Then, after I flipped out and kept yelling, "Why? Why? Why?" She kept saying, "Betuz I wanted too!" I didn't like that answer at all and kept saying, "why? Why? Why?" I sent her to her room and she started to cry, then she kept saying, "Kenna never cut-cut again" To this day, she still is afraid of scissors. Just a note: we were to have family and kid pictures that week...to this day, still no professional pictures.
